Hoy vengo con algo totalmente nuevo, una PicMonkey-reseña. En verdad sí que hice algo parecido aquí pero no termina de ser una PicMonkey-reseña. A estas alturas algunos os estaréis preguntando:

Bueno, una PicMonkey-reseña es el nombre que le he asignado a aquellas reseñas que utilizan dibujos o fotos realizados por mi en el programa PicMonkey.
Después de esta aclaración empezamos (antes de nada os dejo el book trailer, es un libro bastante surrealista y no os enteraríais de nada):

SINOPSIS

Tres chicas perdidas, cada una en busca de algo distinto. Pero lo que acaban encontrando supera los límites de la razón.

Cuando Agnes, Cecilia y Lucy ingresan la noche de Halloween en el hospital del Perpetuo Socorro no imaginan lo mucho que cambiarán sus desastrosas vidas. Tres pulseras entregadas por un chico anónimo las unirá a las puertas de una iglesia a punto de ser derruida, y lo que allí vivan durante 3 días cambiará no solo cómo son sino lo que son. Agnes, Cecilia y Lucy son herederas del destino de tres santas mártires que deben luchar contra un mundo cada vez peor. La cruzada de las chicas se convierte en un juego por adivinar quién es bueno y quién malo, a quién amar y en quién confiar. Estas díscolas extrañas se embarcan en una búsqueda del amor para encontrarse a sí mismas.

OPINIÓN PERSONAL

La primera vez que leí este libro no entendí de nada en absoluto. A cada página que pasaba:

Así que hace poco lo leí por segunda vez y entonces sí que entendí algo: que en este libro no se entiende nada en absoluto (la frase anterior sonaba mucho mejor en mi cabeza).

Las anteriores lecturas de Tonya Hurley me habían gustado bastante, me encanta su forma de narrar y la considero una de las escritoras indispensables de mi niñez con la saga Ghostgirl. Este libro sigue su línea conforme a la narración y a la temática pero la historia es completamente enfermiza.

El libro cuenta la historia de estas tres chicas: Lucy, Agnes y Cecilia. El libro nos hace creer que son muy distintas entre sí, pero la verdad es que todas son iguales, se pasan todo el libro en estado permanente de: *dentro voz de pija* CHICAAAS! NO OS PREOCUPÉIS SI LLEGAIS A UNA IGLESIA RUINOSA GUIADAS POR UNA PULSERA O SI LLORÁIS SANGRE, SOMOS DIVINAS (literalmente) Y NO NOS PASARÁ NADA DE NADA! *fuera voz de pija*

Y si por si fuera poco tienen un mentor, guía espiritual... o como lo queráis llamar (simplemente Sebastian) que les regala unos decenarios para llevarlas a la iglesia (esto huele a secuestro).

Cuando llegan a la iglesia empiezan a suceder cosas muy raras y finalmente en una batalla final TODOS MUEREN!!!

Vale, eso no es del todo cierto,  o sí? Bueno, no sé, me acaba de dar un ataque repentino de Alzheimer y no me acuerdo (maldito libro) que pena, lo tendréis que descubrir vosotros.

Resumen final:

Puede que nos emborrachemos, nos intentemos suicidar o seamos unas promiscuas pero, recordad lo importante, somos santas chicas!

Eso es todo, un libro con una buena historia base y buen narrado pero muy enredado y con personajes poco elaborados.

Today I come with something completely new, a PicMonkey-review. In fact  I did something similar here but it completely wasn't a PicMonkey-review. At this point, some of you'll be wondering:

Well, a PicMonkey-review is the name that I have assigned to those reviews that use drawings or photos made by my in PicMonkey program.

After this clarification, we start (first of all I leave the book trailer, it's a pretty surreal book and if you don't see it you wouldn't understand anything):

SYNOPSIS

Agnes, Cecilia, and Lucy are three lost girls—each with their own personal demons. Beautiful Agnes is a hopeless romantic, whose recent break-up landed her in the hospital with cuts on her wrists. Cecilia loves music . . . but has found herself trading her self-respect for warm bed or paying gig. Lucy’s It Girl status has her bold-faced name appearing regularly in the tabloids, but her superficial lifestyle only makes her feel more empty and alone.

These girls meet one night when they all end up in the same hospital . . . and each wake up with a token from a boy they’ve only just met. Sebastian is gorgeous, mysterious, and has a plan for all of them. As each girl gets wrapped up in finding out just who Sebastian is, they each discover their own strengths, and realize the only way to save themselves is to save each other.

PERSONAL OPINION

The first time I read this book I didn't understand anything at all. To each page that passed:

So recently I read it a second time and then I understood something: in this book is not understood anything at all (the preceding sentence sounded better in my head).
Previous readings of Tonya Hurley had liked enough, I love his way of telling, and I consider it one of the essential writers of my childhood with the Ghostgirl series. This book follows his line according to narration and the subject, but the story is completely insane.
The book tells the story of these three girls: Lucy, Agnes, and Cecilia. Makes us believe that they are very different among themselves, but the truth is that all are equal, spend the entire book in a permanent state of: *inside posh voice* GIIIIIRLS! DON'T WORRY IFYOU'VE GO TO A DILAPIDATED CHURCH GUIDED BY A BRACELET OR IF YOU CRY BLOOD, WE ARE DIVINE (literally) AND NOTHING BAD WILL PASS US *out posh voice*

And if in case outside little, they have a mentor, guide spiritual... or how you want to call him (simply Sebastian) that gives them a few decenarios that carry them to a church (this smells of abduction).

When they arrive to the church begin to happen very strange things and finally in a final battle all dying things!

OK, that's not quite true, or yes? Well, I don't know, it just give me a sudden attack of Alzheimer and I don't remember (damn book), you'll have to discover it.

Final summary:

Maybe we are drunk, maybe we try to commit suicide or we are promiscuous but, importantly, remember we are blessed, girls!

That's it, a book with a good base and well narrated history but very tangled and with little elaborated characters.
